STATE VISIT TO THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES - Meeting with the President of the Senate

After this meeting, the Governor General delivered a speech at the Senate chamber.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, walking in the streets of Mexico towards the Senate Builing.

Upon her arrival, the Governor General is welcomed by Senator Carlos Naverrete Ruiz, President of the Senate.

The Governor General then met with Senator Carlos Naverrete Ruiz, President of the Senate and the leaders of the directive board, as well as with other political parties represented in the Senate.

The Governor General discussed the importance of bilateral relations between Mexico and Canada during the meeting. Sitting beside her is the Honourable Peter Kent, Minister of State of Foreign Affairs (Americas).
