STATE VISIT TO THE REPUBLIC OF GUATEMALA - Delegates Visit to CEIBA

CEIBA works with youth at risks for drugs and gangs in marginal areas of Guatemala City by providing an apprenticeship program for computer repair and maintenance. Peter Fleigl, Advisor (Youth) to the Governor General (left), as well as delegates Jaime Koeble (centre) and Gavin Sheppard (right) also took part in the visit and the discussion.

Youth delegates and other members of the delegation visited CEIBA office, a youth-at-risk program which received funds from CIDA.

The program has facilitated social reintegration of former gang members and provides youth employment. Delegates Carlos Ferrand (left, with video camera) and Youssef El-Khoury (standing) also attended the event.

CEIBA received wide recognition for its success.
