OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA - Youth Dialogue

Her Excellency hosted a Youth Dialogue during which she met with young Slovenes to discuss the importance of empowering youth to build peace and solidarity in their communities.

"It is to celebrate the positive effects of youth engagement that I have convened this Youth Dialogue."

A delegation of Canadians representing a variety of fields accompanied Her Excellency during her official visit to Slovenia. Kevin Walker (right) was one of these delegates.

Canadian delegate Nelofer Pazira, filmmaker and journalist, also took part in the Dialogue.

The Governor General spoke with Tom Majer, a Canadian citizen employed as a primary school teacher at British International School of Ljubljana.

The Aboriginal artist Kevin Walker shared some of his heritage with the participants, including the Ambassador of Slovania to Canada, His Excellency Mr. Tomaž Kunstelj.

The singer Stéphanie Lapointe (right), who is also a delegate, took part in the event.

The Governor General’s Youth Dialogues are part of a series of national and international high-energy discussions that focus on galvanizing youth across the country and around the world to become catalysts of positive change.

Mr. Simon Maljevac (left) was the moderator for the discussion. Ms. Katarina Rešek (right), a Slovenian filmmaker, was one of the panellists.
