Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, inspects the guard of honour after listening to the Vice-Regal Salute and the 21-Gun Salute at the foot of the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill. The Governor General then entered the Senate Chamber to deliver the Speech from the Throne that opened the second session of the 39th Parliament of Canada.
