Order of Military Merit Investiture Ceremony, at Rideau Hall.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General and Commander in Chief of Canada, appointed today 54 members of the Canadian Regular and Reserve Forces to the Order of Military Merit. The ceremony included the appointment of 4 commanders, 19 officers and 31 members. The Order of Military Merit was created in 1972 to recognize meritorious service and devotion to duty by members of the Canadian Forces. The Order has three levels of membership: Commander (C.M.M.), Officer (O.M.M.) and Member (M.M.M.).
