Governor General receives first Honorary Doctorate
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, receives an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa on June 5, 2006 at the National Arts Centre. The Governor General, pictured here with the university’s chancellor, Huguette Labelle, delivered the keynote address during the spring convocation ceremony. It was the first honorary doctorate conferred upon the Governor General.
