Helen Hawes has organized several local Relay for Life runs for the Canadian Cancer Society, helping to raise over half a million dollars for cancer research. She also spends her time mentoring and coaching first-time Ironman participants, and coordinates fundraising initiatives for the Gananoque and District Humane Society.
