Walter Lushman promotes safety around waterways. In 2012, he developed a water safety program for first responders that is now offered to all law enforcement and paramilitary personnel via the Canadian Police Knowledge Network. Through the cadet movement, he has mentored and helped youth to be engaged in the community.
