Kiana Friesen started volunteering when she was in Grade 6 by creating and selling journals to help raise funds for cancer research, the Winnipeg Children's Hospital, the local soup kitchen and to buy mosquito nets for children in Africa. She continues to be involved in local fundraising events, and food and clothing drives, to benefit such community organizations as Steinbach Helping Hands, Anna's House, and Free The Children build-a-school programs in Ghana.
