Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Jacqueline McDonald has dedicated herself for many years to the most disadvantaged people in her community. Once a week, with the help of a team of volunteers, she prepares baskets of provisions which are then distributed to such families. She also organizes the Christmas basket distribution program. Through the Moisson des Pays organization, Mrs. McDonald serves as a volunteer for a large annual collection of non-perishable products. Each week she distributes books and magazines to patients of Ste-Agathe hospital and visits seniors at the Résidence des aînées in Sainte?Agathe. Mrs. McDonald also acts as president of the Canadian Cancer Society for the Laurentian region.
