Martin Reichert is the catalyst behind Veteran's View, a park that has become the centrepiece of North Dundas. Overlooking the town cenotaph, the park was built through the spadework of Mr. Reichert, who, with the help of volunteers, spent many evenings and weekends digging ditches, planting trees and flowers and installing paving stones. Mr. Reichert has also been active as treasurer of the Morewood Recreation Association, a volunteer with the North Dundas Food Bank, a Santa Claus and helper for the Guiding movement and as a lay preacher for his church. Mr. Reichert's quiet yet productive actions have contributed greatly to his community's sense of pride and well-being.
