George E. Harding, Arnprior, Ont.
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

For 25 years, George Harding has been an active member of the Arnprior Lions Club. He has been involved in all club fundraising activities, from setting up the weekly bingo, to selling tickets at the mall for the club's charitable projects. In addition to his involvement with the Lions Club, Mr. Harding makes scheduled visits to the chronic care unit at the local hospital and nursing home. He also cares for the elderly or sick in his community by offering them much-needed transportation for shopping or appointments. During the winter months, Mr. Harding brings them homemade soup and checks in on them regularly.
