Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Mary Packard is a founding member of the local horticultural society and continues to tend public flower beds in her community. She began her fifty-year history of voluntarism as a Girl Guide leader and has since become involved in church activities and executive committees, volunteering and canvassing for many non-profit organizations and conducting historical guided tours of the village, dressed in period costume.
