    Don Parisien, a member of Wilberforce Township's Waste Management Committee since 1989, helped the township take control of its own waste management. Thanks to his efforts, a waste transfer station was established, a user pay system was introduced, and the county's first recycling program was initiated. The result has been an amazing 77% waste reduction. Mr. Parisien's phenomenal efforts also garnered the township a nomination for the 1996 Canadian Health Environmental Award.
