Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Tom DeBlois has made outstanding contributions to health care on the Island through his involvement with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He is also an active member of his local Rotary Club. He supported the introduction of a television component to the Rotary Radio Auction, played a pivotal role in inviting women to join the Club, ensured that the contributions of senior members are remembered, and has supported numerous programs for children with disabilities. Over the years, he has also helped the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, the Holland College Foundation, and various economic and business organizations. Mr. DeBlois was also a volunteer Vice-President for the 1991 Canada Winter Games held in the province.
