Theresa Dorothy McCulloch (posthumous), Bradford, Ont.
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Terry McCulloch, a wheelchair user, devoted herself to helping others. She was a long-time knitter for the Guardian Drug Stores' Guardian Angel Program, producing dozens of tiny sweaters and booties for premature babies in hospitals throughout the area. She also knitted hats and mitts for children in need, as well as for people who were homeless. With the help of her husband, Mrs. McCulloch also built beautiful doll houses, works of art which were donated to worthy organizations to use as fundraisers.
