Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For many years, Alice St-Denis has been the driving force behind the parish clothing bank, has done volunteer pastoral work at the Bordeaux Prison and has worked on the parish reception and sponsorship committee for immigrants. She was involved in assisting refugees, especially taking care of their clothing and furniture needs. As well, she helped set up a French-language course for immigrants who did not qualify for government programs, volunteered for about fifty years with the Third World Foreign Missions Society and has been a member of the Secular Franciscan Order for about thirty years. She has also collected funds for the Quebec Heart Disease Foundation.
