Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

For more than forty years, Edward Fred dedicated much of his time to helping revive an appreciation of traditional culture among First Nations People in his community. He was respected as a community Elder, band councillor, teacher and spokesperson. Mr. Fred was also involved with the Friendship Centre in Vernon and was a role model and inspiration to many people.
