Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Fred Ross has been a tireless volunteer with his local RCMP Veterans' Association, assisting ill members and providing support to the families of deceased veterans, making them feel that they remain a part of the `family'. He also helped organize a golf tournament to raise funds for the Slain Peace Officers Fund, and was actively involved in the dedication of a bronze statue commemorating the start of the `March West' of the Northwest Mounted Police in 1874. In addition, Mr. Ross has been involved in Old Timer Hockey for several years.
