Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Even at her young age, Nicole Gutfrucht has already done significant volunteer work. In high school, she often initiated community projects and encouraged involvement from others. She formed a club to promote multicultural understanding, volunteered at both a Bible Camp and with AIDS Vancouver, and worked as a hospital candy-striper. While attending college, Miss Gutfrucht developed AIDS Awareness Week and World AIDS Day activities, and provided office support for the local AIDS Society.
