Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Through the Hazeldean Lions Club, Graham Ball has led fundraising efforts to assist the Kanata Food Cupboard, the Queensway-Carleton Hospital and the cause of youth suicide prevention. He co-founded and currently volunteers full-time as manager of the Lion Dick Brûlé Community Centre, which provides a meeting place for youth and a program for adults with dementia. For over 30 years, on an almost daily basis, whether serving the Glen Cairn Community Association, or fundraising for sports facilities or for the installation of wheelchair access ramps, Mr. Ball has contributed significantly to the quality of life of Kanata's residents.
