Jack Hannam, Parksville, B.C.
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Jack Hannam has been dedicated to community service throughout his lifetime. He has long been involved with farming and cattlemen associations and helped found the South Peace Feeder Co-operative. He helped build the house for the pastor in the community of Progress and wire the newly constructed church. He also assisted in the construction of the McLeod Curling Rink and, since 1988, has been a director for the B.C. Provincial Senior Games Society. In addition, Mr. Hannam has volunteered his time to serve the local Chamber of Commerce, the Little Prairie Heritage Society and the Chetwynd Hospital Board.
