Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Jean-Guy Nadeau's compassion and dedication to service have benefited the citizens of Montreal East for over 35 years. Since 1973, he has coached minor hockey for youth and has organized numerous Bantam tournaments across the province. He is also an adept fundraiser and leader whose various efforts have supported many young athletes as well as the hugely popular annual community golf tournament, now in its 15th year. In addition to the devoted care he provides to his wife, who is living with Alzheimer's disease, Mr. Nadeau is a member of a committee of a local metal refinery that reviews its activities and effects on the community.
