Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Adrien Maltais is a pillar of the community of Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs, and is a model of generosity for whom helping his neighbour is a way of life. He has been secretary and sexton with the Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs parish council since 1981, where he maintains and renovates the parish church and updates its operations. He is a long-serving member of the Knights of Columbus, and has also helped to establish a number of social events and charitable organizations, including the Club de l'âge d'or des Lacs, the Société d'initiatives et de développement de Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs, and the Festival des Lacs, where he served as president for five years. A proud member of the Maltais family, he continues to contribute to the vitality and enrichment of his community.
