Zigmund Misiak
Brantford, Ontario

Zigmund Misiak is passionate about Canadian history and culture. He participated in the planning of the Brantford Sesquicentennial in 1997, and has served as the chairman of the Brantford War of 1812 Bicentennial Steering Committee since its creation in late 2007. In addition, he served as a board member of the Pine Tree Native Centre of Brant and advocated for the erection of a monument to the Polish Veterans of Brantford. He co-developed a DVD that featured interviews with Six Nations veterans, which he subsequently distributed free-of-charge to 164 schools on and off the Six Nations Territory.
