Joan C. Harvey, Knowlton, Quebec
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For more than thirty years, Joan Harvey has been a committed volunteer with the Montreal Association for the Blind. She was a regular volunteer in various roles at the School for the Blind, and has remained dedicated to organizing the Cheerio Club, which offers blind members with health concerns an opportunity to socialize. Although she moved to another community several years ago, she has continued to make a weekly 200-km round trip to Montréal to do so.
