Believing that "the gift is in the giving -- the giving of oneself", twenty-year-old Danielle O'Keefe has devoted much of her time to helping others. While excelling in her school studies and activities, she has become involved in a wide variety of voluntary organizations and causes. Some of these include helping to organize an annual bike rodeo to promote safety for young cyclists, volunteering as a Special Olympics coach, serving on local crime prevention and drug survey committees, delivering Christmas baskets to seniors and visiting with nursing home residents.
