Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

In addition to having served his community for more than forty years as a volunteer firefighter, Mel Mummery has devoted his time to caring for persons with illnesses, senior citizens and the youth of Minnedosa. He volunteers at the local hospital and, for the past sixteen years, has been a volunteer driver for senior citizens. He has also actively supported minor sports and helped maintain a community playground.
