Julia Catherine McDonald, Selkirk, Manitoba
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Throughout her lifetime, Julia McDonald has served her family and community unselfishly. During the depression of the 1930s, she helped spread Christmas cheer to the children of the Clandeboye, Manitoba community. During WWII, she made quilts to send to those who were fighting overseas. She has long been a great organizer and volunteer in her church and community, both in Clandeboye and Selkirk, where she now resides.
