Ena Farrell Edwards, St. Lawrence, Nfld.
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Ena Farrell Edwards has long been dedicated to her community and its members, young and old. She volunteered for decades with the local Canadian Cancer Society and Lung Association, was active in the Girl Guides of Canada, formed the first Ranger company in St. Lawrence, and was involved in church and hospital work. In addition, Mrs. Farrell Edwards was responsible for the only photographic record of one of the largest marine tragedies in the North Atlantic during World War II and has ever since been dedicated to recording the heritage of the St. Lawrence region.
