Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

For over 50 years, Edna Harding has been tirelessly giving a hand to the people of her community. She bakes, cooks and delivers Meals on Wheels. She is very active and performs various jobs in the United Church Women (UCW), the Order of the Eastern Star, the Royal Canadian Legion and its Ladies Auxiliary, the Mulgrave and Area Medical Centre committee and the Memory Lane seniors club. Mrs. Harding provides transportation and care for the elderly or sick, and assists them in any way she can. She is famous for her homemade fudge, which she sells to raise funds for charity, and, every year, playing the role of Mrs. Claus, she helps out at the fire department's Christmas party, bringing the joy of the season to children.
