Bonnie Sherr Klein has used her talents to shed light on social issues and to give voice to the voiceless. An anti-war activist, filmmaker and writer, she joined the National Film Board’s women’s Studio D, where she famously made Not a Love Story: A Film about Pornography, which has changed attitudes around the world. After a remarkable recovery from two debilitating strokes, she widened her focus towards activism on behalf of disabled persons, notably through her groundbreaking film Shameless: the Art of Disability. She also helped to promote excellence among artists with disabilities as the co-founder of the KickstART Society for Disability Arts and Culture.
