During a remarkable career as a child psychiatrist with the Hospital for Sick Children and as a professor at the University of Toronto, she has dedicated her energies to children and families coping with facial abnormalities, chronic illnesses and disabilities. The driving force behind the creation of AboutFace, Ability OnLine and AbleNET, she has built a network of psycho-social support agencies which foster self-esteem and independent living among her young patients.
