While working on the family farm, at age 23 he became manager of one of the first co-operatives in Eastern Québec, in Saint-Damase. This experience awoke in him a constant concern to improve the lot of rural communities through economic development. He has devoted himself to the well- being of his fellow citizens through his tireless work in various agricultural organizations.
