He has promoted and strengthened amateur athletics in Manitoba and has brought international competition to his province. Well known for his pivotal role in securing the 1967 Pan American Games for his city, he was later involved with the 1975 Special Olympics and is currently assisting with the 2002 North American Indigenous Games. In addition, he served as General Manager of the Canadian Team at the1986 and 1990 Commonwealth Games. A former Director of Private Funding at the University of Manitoba, he has been an effective and tireless fundraiser on behalf of numerous non-profit organizations.
