Tony Fields is a leader in the development of strategies to fight cancer in Canada. An oncologist, professor and former director of the Cross Cancer Institute, he has long been an advocate for cancer patients, and was instrumental in the expansion of cancer treatment, diagnosis and research programs, and facilities across Alberta. In addition, he has helped to design and implement our national cancer control strategy, and has held leadership roles with several professional and advocacy groups, including the Alberta Cancer Foundation, the National Cancer Institute of Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society.
