He is an international authority on soil structure who has discovered innovative solutions to age-old geotechnical problems. Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at DalTech, Dalhousie University, he has applied his vast knowledge of the earth's movement to the improvement of the design of structural foundations. His research has set the benchmark for others to aspire to and has highlighted the important role engineers play in our day-to-day lives.
