A successful lawyer, he is also a compassionate philanthropist who gives generously in support of a wide variety of worthwhile causes. In the 1960s, he was appointed legal counsel to the Board of the Fathers of Confederation Memorial Buildings Trust, a volunteer position he held for many years. In addition to his many professional commitments, he has raised funds for the University of Prince Edward Island, the Canada Winter Games and several other community initiatives.
