A retired teacher, he has guided his town's artistic development for more than twenty-five years. He has made the arts accessible to rural Saskatchewan as President of the Swift Current Allied Arts Council. Convinced that the quality of life of the community is enhanced when there are artistic opportunities, he has brought varied cultural events to the region, including classical music, opera and popular live entertainment.
