An inspiration to all who know her, she is a staunch defender of the interests of disabled people. She is the co-founder of the Spinal Cord Injury Treatment Centre Society in Edmonton and has advised the city's Transportation Committee. She has raised funds for research, counselled disabled hospital patients and lobbied for changes in policy concerning barriers to mobility. Courageous and tireless, a role model for others, she has devoted more than thirty years to her community.
