Margaret Newall's experience as an elementary school teacher sensitized her to the devastating effects of domestic violence on young children and the importance of a safe home environment. A co-founder of the Prairieaction Foundation, she has been tireless in her campaign to broaden public awareness and support for research and educational programs. Through the foundation, she has raised millions in support of the Research and Education for Solutions to Violence and Abuse (RESOLVE) network. She is also a patron of the arts, sponsoring the Honens International Piano Competition and supporting the Mount Royal College Conservatory.
