For more than 45 years, Donald Johnston has been making outstanding contributions to law and public service. A visionary leader, he helped pioneer taxation-based feature film financing. As well, he co-founded the law firm Heenan Blaikie (formerly Johnston Heenan Blaikie) and was a highly regarded federal cabinet minister who championed tax reform. As the first non-European head of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, he was instrumental in positioning the organization as an important voice for good governance, democracy and economic development. He continues to be sought out for his expertise in public policy and has enhanced Canada's reputation and its influence on the world stage.
