Following a distinguished military career, he has worked with selfless dedication on behalf of veterans. For more than 25 years, he has served as a representative of the Royal Canadian Legion on the Executive Committee of the British Commonwealth Ex-Services League. He is committed to the remembrance of those fallen Canadians who went to Britain during both World Wars, and his idea led to the creation of the Canada Memorial in London, England. Awarded the Governor General's Literary Award for his biography of Viscount Byng of Vimy, he has provided, through his writings, an enduring tribute to all those who served with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.
