Professor Emeritus in the Departments of Pharmacology and Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, he was the first incumbent of the Anne and Max Tanenbaum Chair in Neuroscience. He is known internationally for his research on dopamine receptors and their involvement in diseases such as schizophrenia, Parkinson's and Huntington's. A former member of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Mental Health Foundation, he continues to serve on many editorial and advisory boards and committees and is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards.
