He has encouraged the pursuit of excellence in world and Olympic figure skating competition. The first coach to film skaters for training purposes, he helped his students win sixteen medals for Canada. He was a founder of the Professional Skaters' Association of Canada and served as its first president. An integral part of our figure skating heritage, he has been inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame and the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
