He is respected as a dedicated and inspiring community leader. A member of the board of Montréal's Jewish General Hospital for almost two decades, he also served as President of that institution. At McGill University, where his roles have been many and varied, he holds the titles of Governor Emeritus and Honorary Treasurer. An accountant, he has also been active within his profession's governing body in Quebec on issues of accountability and ethics.
