Her career has been a model for women in architecture. One of the first women in her profession in Quebec, she was also the first woman to be elected an Officer of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and later became its first female Fellow. At the University of Toronto, she became the first woman to hold the position of Dean at a Canadian faculty of architecture. A respected urban planner, she has served on many municipal and provincial planning commissions, has been an active volunteer and has co-directed a successful architectural firm.
