He has been instrumental in identifying the scope of mental health problems in children. Professor Emeritus at McMaster University, he is one of Canada's most distinguished child psychiatrists. Founding Director of the Canadian Centre for the Studies of Children at Risk, he has worked tirelessly as an advocate for disadvantaged children. For more than four decades, he has devoted his summers to serve as Director of the Christie Lake Camp where he has helped to enrich the quality of life of underprivileged and troubled youth.
