Through his multifaceted career in Canadian mass communications, he has fostered the industry's evolution and growth. As a journalist, writer, radio and television host and as an active member of the Alliance of Canadian Television and Radio Artists, he has nurtured indigenous talent and programming. The Barris Beat, Front Page Challenge and The Juliette Show became springboards for young talent and proved the viability of Canadian content. A champion of a number of causes pertinent to the entertainment industry, he is also active within the communities of Agincourt and Scarborough, where he has made a far-reaching and sustained voluntary contribution.
