A source of stability during times of change and a gifted communicator and storyteller, she has been tending to the evolving needs of her people as an elder and spiritual leader for many years. Her vital knowledge of traditional skills concerning native medicine, the ecosystem and practical fishing and hunting techniques has been passed on to the younger members of the Algonquin Nation, helping them to remain self-sufficient.
